Roses are possibly the flower type that is most in demand. They are more expensive than others, and a beautiful, full, healthy rose bud is one of the most treasured flowers known to man. Roses make nice additions to your flower garden. Many people even center their flower gardens around roses. Believe it or not, they aren't as difficult to grow as many suspect. Here are some tips for growing roses that can help you grow the most colorful and vibrant roses your garden has ever seen.

- Buy healthy bulbs. The first step to growing beautiful flowers is to find bulbs that are disease-free and healthy. There are some varieties of roses that actually come disease-resistant. These include Flower Carpet, Sun Flare, and Cliffs of Dover.

- Don't spray your flowers too much. You obviously may need chemicals to keep the bugs away and to kill the disease, but you don't want to overspray. This can give your roses even more problems and not an attractive of look.

- Water evenly. Roses like plenty of water. They demand to be watered regularly and abundantly. To make sure they get the water they need, you may want to invest in an inexpensive irrigation system that will spray water even on your roses.

- Fertilize your roses. Your roses don't need a lot of fertilizer, but they will need some. You'll need to fertilize them once a year, preferably in the spring. Give them plenty of food to eat. Many people think roses need constant fertilizer, but if you get a fertilizer that demands use only once each growing season, you'll be fine.

- Spend less time worrying and more time enjoying. When many gardeners think about roses, they think about hassles and headaches. In reality, you should spend more time enjoying the time you have with your roses rather than worrying about making sure they don't die.
